“My wife, Charity, and I wel-
comed a healthy baby boy,

Hawkins, into the world on
September 9, 2011. He joins his
sister, Preslee (6), in creating
general havoc in our modest
University Park, Texas, home.
We’ve found ourselves on the
same street as
Peter Flynn ’69
and his wife, Jenifer, who have
been exceedingly welcoming.
Small world, even in a big
state.”
Leila C. English
’s update: “I
am back from two years teach-
ing in the Archipielago de So-
lentiname in Lake Nicaragua.
Working with kids who only
receive three days of high
school per month made me ap-
preciate St. Paul’s even more.”

been teaching math and English
to third and fourth graders at the
Awomberu School in Winneba,
Ghana. It has been such a re-
warding experience to share the
education I am so grateful for
with students so eager to learn.
Despite having so little, my stu-
dents and their families are so
rich in spirit. It has been an
honor being a part of this loving
community, much as it was at
SPS. I amdeeply appreciative for
this opportunity to give back,
and to experience academia
from the opposite position.”
