“Much of my time is involved
with the care of my wife, Vickie,
who has suffered two strokes
over the past six years. In 2006
I converted to the Eastern Or-

meaningful associations at the
Greek Church in Newport News,
Va. I am in pretty good health. I
still read a lot, in two languages,
the ‘other’ being Russian. Re-
gards to all.”

From
Dick McKee
: “We went
to Sweden and Iceland this sum-
mer. G
ä
rd, who now is confined
to a wheelchair because of a
neurological problem (CBGD),
wanted to takeour daughters and
their families to see where she
spent her summers as a child.
We flew to her hometown of
Ume
å
, and spent aweekwith her
brother and his wife in T
ä
fte
å
,
on the Gulf of Bothnia. Cold
water, but the children didn’t
mind getting wet. Since T
ä
fte
å
is only 180miles from the Arctic
Circle, it never got dark at night.
On the way home, we stopped
off in Reykjav
í
k, Iceland.”
